The Italian Legendary Tour is a motorcycle tour that was organized by Dainese and AGV along the roads of Italy, from 7th to 10th of September 2011. Legends of motorcycling history, Dainese and AGV Dealers journalists and… 15 lucky customers will take part in it! You could be one of them!
After experiencing the scenic roads of the Dolomites and through the breathtaking Tuscan countryside, this year Dainese and AGV wished to pay homage to the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, choosing Turin as final destination for Italian Legendary Tour 2011.
The motorcycle tour started off on September 7th from the Dainese headquarters in Vicenza, to discover some of the most significant places in Italy's history. After a visit to the company headquarters, the tour rode through the Alps visiting wonderful places and finishing on September 10th in Italy's first capital city, Turin.
Once again this year the group was accompanied by some motorcycling legends, representing 4 different generations of riders who have left their mark on the history of this sport: Giacomo Agostini, Marco Lucchinelli, Carl Fogarty and Marco Simoncelli.
Giacomo Agostini, nickname Ago (born in Brescia, 16 June 1942), is universally considered the greatest motorcycling champion of all times. Over 14 seasons he won 15 World Championship titles, riding both in the 350cc and 500cc classes. There is no-one like him, with 163 podiums in 190 world title races, he won 8 world titles with 68 GP wins in the 500cc class, and 7 titles and 54 GP wins in the 350cc class. He won just one GP in the "750cc" class. His palmarès includes a total of 311 victories in official races and tens of national titles in addition to his world titles.

Marco Lucchinelli (born in Bolano, 26 June 1954) wrote his name in the golden book of motorcycle racing in 1981, dominating the scene with five victories (France, Holland, Belgium, San Marino and Finland) and a total of 105 points, but fans know him above all by the nickname "Crazy Horse", earned through his wild style of riding, which attracted large crowds to the racetracks. This had both pros and cons, as his frequent and very often painful falls prevented him from reaping the rewards he should have earned through his great aptitude to adapt to new bikes and to understand and make the most of new circuits. With his jolly and friendly nature, Lucchinelli was the first motorcyclist to sing at the Sanremo Song Festival and also the first to try out the Istrice (porcupine) knee sliders, with rubber spikes on the knees of the suit.

"The King" Carl George Fogarty (born in Blackburn, 1 July 1965) was the undisputed World Superbike leader of 90s on his Ducati. He is also the rider who has won the most world championships in this class: four World titles and 59 races riding official team Ducati 916 and 996 bikes. Aggressive on the track, with a difficult and cantankerous personality, Carl Fogarty was the icon of a style of pushing the limits that fascinated and wrote unforgettable pages for fans of modified production motorcycles. Many of his successes were achieved at the last minute, by believing in himself right up to the last bend. Coherent with his philosophy, in 2000 he announced his retirement after a fall in Australia that would have prevented him from racing at the same level as before; in his biography he explained this by stating: "I don't like racing, I like winning".

Marco Simoncelli (born in Cattolica, 20 January 1987) is the current promise of MotoGP , although he already won the 250cc World Championship title in 2008. He is known by the nickname Supersic, or simply "Sic", after the abbreviation of his surname that appears on the television screen graphics during races. His talent showed at a young age, when he won track races and at 15 years old he was already one of the top European riders in the 125cc class. He continued to grow, with his first World Championship season in 2003 and first successes among some of the strongest riders in the world.
